How the chemical sciences can help to feed the world
21 - 23 November 2011
Accra International Convention Centre, Accra, Ghana
The world's population is expected to increase by more than 20% by 2030. Food security is becoming an important problem, and agriculture will need to substantially improve its productivity if it is to rise to the challenge of feeding the world. While global food production has grown by 145% over the past 40 years, food production in Africa has fallen by 10% since 1960, and this has been attributed to low investment.
The 1st PACN Congress on Agricultural Productivity aims to bring leading scientists together to communicate and discuss current research and ideas in the agricultural sciences, and to learn more from one another.
Themes
Topics at the congress will include:
- Crop Protection
- Plant Nutrition
- Soil and Ecosystems

- Adaptation to Climate Change
